Solo Toys!

The Walmart near me had Solo toys a day before the soft release date! Emphasis on had. They were pretty wiped out already. But I did manage to find some toys I found pretty interesting…

What have we here? Funky new Imperial ship?

Meet the Arrestor cruiser. The design of the ship is taken straight from concept art drawn up by artist Colin Cantwell. Given the shape of the ship and it’s focus toward these projector dishes, I’d guess the ship is used primarily to disable ships with strong tractor beams. In canon, it may be later phased out by the Interdictor-class star destroyer, which can not only hold it’s own in combat better than this smaller cruiser, but also stop ships from entering hyperspace (and pull them out of it when the need arises.)

The other ship I managed to get my hands on is called the AT-Hauler.

The ship appears to have some red markings or dusty wear and tear, and is more white than normal Imperial light grey. Given that the included base for the vehicle does not bear an Imperial insignia, I’m going to go out on a limb and say this is actually a repurposed Republic freighter. At this time in canon, the Empire was still phasing out Clone Wars tech, and was known to use ground vehicles with the AT designation such as the AT-TE, AT-TE, and AT-DP.

I can’t wait to see these new ships this May when Solo hits theaters. Personally, I also can’t wait to see if there’s a big reveal of Boba Fett being in this movie. But even if he isn’t, it looks like it’s going to be a fun ride.

Thanks for reading! And keep on trooping.
