Awesome finds at fun little book shops in the West Virginia and the other Virginia. I believe in buying used books, keeping them in good shape and giving them more than one life.
From top to bottom:
- The New Rebellion (1996)
- X-Wing: Iron Fist (1998)
- Tales from the Mos Eisley Cantina (1995)
- A Guide to the Star Wars Universe (1984)
- Splinter of the Mind’s Eye (1978 but couldn’t find the date of this reprint)
- Shield of Lies (1996)
- Smuggler’s Run: A Han Solo and Chewbacca Adventure (2015)
- The Weapon of a Jedi: A Luke Skywalker Adventure (2015)
- Dark Forces: Soldier for the Empire (1998 reprint)
- Dark Forces: Rebel Agent (1998)
- Guide to the Star Wars Worlds Trilogy (2004)
Shout-outs to Books and Other Found Things in Leesburg, Virginia and Fuzzy Dog Books and Music in Charles Town, West Virginia. Might I add that Fuzzy Dog had possibly the best organized Star Wars section I’ve ever seen, with every arc/series grouped together. It wasn’t in chronological order, but at least some order helps when you’re hunting down bits and pieces of larger series!
There was a short rumor period surrounding this set before it was officially revealed by Lego this week. Weighing in at 1,060 pieces (a respectable $0.12 per piece), Darth Vader’s Castle is now available for preorder exclusively through Amazon and Lego stores. The importance of this castle is being expanded upon as we speak through comics, novels, and video games since the lair’s first appearance in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. And there’s a lot to love in this big set. Let’s break it down and see what Castle Vader has to offer. . .

Wondering what’s going on? Catch up with this bizarre premise here and here. Basically I’m exploring different possibilities surrounding the death of Darth Vader much earlier in the saga by way of those explosive implants mentioned in The Phantom Menace (which are never mentioned again in canon.)

Missed part one? Check it out here. Long story short, how would the Saga change if Darth Vader suddenly died partway through? His subdermal implants that kept him bound to slavery were never removed or addressed again in canon, meaning they could potentially explode at any time. Or perhaps Vader could control them. . .

It’s no secret that I love Boba Fett, and in the spirit of talking about actually enjoying Star Wars instead of nitpicking it to death, I want to talk about the possibilities for Fett’s potential spin-off film!

Is it safe to come out now and try to have a conversation about The Last Jedi? Maybe? Okay, let’s talk about Force sensitivity in canon and legends, good and bad, and how it hasn’t really changed all that much. If The Last Jedi ruined your childhood, this may not be something you’re interested in reading. But the Definite Article stands to ready to dissect, dismantle, and hopefully understand.

The Empire grows stronger with the addition of a cold-climate range trooper, elite Death Star trooper, cunning Grand Moff Tarkin, and the ever-useful IT-O interrogator droid. I lucked out big at Target on two successive trips – and here I thought I’d have to hunt a while for Tarkin.
And thanks to a used book shop not far from home (Last Exit books in Kent, Ohio) I managed to pick up quite a few legends novels (as well as a new copy of Streets of Shadows from Barnes and Noble and Last Shot, which was on sale at Target) These will all make fine additions to my collection and backlog of Legends series I still need to read through, though Last Shot will probably come next seeing as Solo arrives next month.
Thanks for reading!
