Return of the Princess – Leia: Princess of Alderaan Review
Before the Rebellion of hope had been built, the Organa family had to start somewhere. What happened before Leia received the Death Star plans from the battle of Scarif? How did that same Rebel Alliance come to be, and how did it pull off the impossible task of fighting the Empire? Let’s answer some of those questions with a recap/review of Leia: Princess of Alderaan! Continue reading “Return of the Princess – Leia: Princess of Alderaan Review”
Update on the StudioÂ
I haven’t been around as much as I’d like to be, but I plan to change that soon. My wife and I are moved in and the construction of my studio is underway! But that means a lot of clutter and boxes that still need to be shaped into my dream workspace and Star Wars haven. It’s getting there, slowly but surely, and I’m keeping a backlog of books and toys I want to talk about. Once I have a space to take pictures set up, the figure reviews will come along. Here’s just a few things I’ve picked up since the move that I plan to share some more thoughts on soon:
- Phasma – So different and strange, and who knows how much of this will be expanded on in future films and novels.
- Darth Vader (Volume One, Marvel Comics) – So much good to say about the Vader comics. Couldn’t get enough!
- Doctor Aphra (Marvel Comics) – Aphra is awesome. Great new character and fun books.
- Leia: Princess of Alderaan – Still reading this one. I like it but how does it stack up against Claudia Grey’s previous Star Wars novels?
- And of course, the Black Series! I’ve picked up Luke, Rey, and the Stormtrooper Executioner from The Last Jedi as well as Commander Gree , Grand Admiral Thrawn, and the Inferno Squad Agent.
So there’s much to do and I’ll get to it soon. Just have to finish building that throne room. Er I mean studio space. More to come soon! I thank all my readers for being patient while I get things in real life in order first.

Black Series: Rebel Girl Sabine Wren (Review)
Rebel scum never looked so good. A criminally under-utilized character, but a great action figure! Hasbro knocks it out of the park with another Rebels character interpreted into a more realistic art style, and the results are as good as it gets. Black Series: AT-ACT Driver (Review)
I’ve been a little busy planning a wedding and I’m getting over a nasty head cold. Now that I’m better, what better way to celebrate with a new Stormtrooper! This Target exclusive is part of the Rogue One set of figures, though I don’t actually remember ever seeing this trooper in the film. Speaking of the film, the home DVD/blu ray release is this Tuesday, April 4th. So there’s no time like the present to revisit Rogue One’s new Imperial trooper variants!
Thrawn Has Arrived – Lego 75170 The Phantom (Review)
Back in canon and now immortalized in Lego, Grand Admiral Thrawn finally gets a minifigure! From Rebels Season 3 comes the Phantom (technically the Phantom II) along with an updated Kanan figure and Chopper. Check it out!

Definite Article: Story Arcs vs. Long-Form Storytelling
It’s easy to compare Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Star Wars: Rebels and look upon the newcomer with a little disdain. Rebels came about because Clone Wars was cancelled, and many believe Clone Wars was doing everything right and that it was wrong to start over with Rebels. A prevailing criticism in the Clone Wars vs. Rebels debate is that Clone Wars took more time to tell its stories – they felt stronger, more mature, and well fleshed out. But is Rebels slowly starting to find that pattern and get it right? Continue reading “Definite Article: Story Arcs vs. Long-Form Storytelling”
Collection Photos: The Black Series Fleet
Since I didn’t grab anything new this week, I decided to take some pictures of my small collection of Black Series vehicles. This is just the collection so far, and while I wasn’t that into them at first, there’s a few on my list now that I want to complete a display. Black Series: The Scarif Stormtroopers
Tying the end of the Clone Wars into the Galactic Civil War era, Scarif Stormtroopers aka Shore Troopers feature Imperial-style armor with Clone-esque customizations. Rogue One gave us a great story and some new Stormtrooper variants to stand alongside the mighty ranks of the Empire. Continue reading “Black Series: The Scarif Stormtroopers”
